Dental implant
A dental implant is a structure made of titanium that will serve as the root of the tooth lost in the jawbone.
Which is better dental bridges or implant?
If the area with tooth deficiency is suitable for implantation, the answer is dental implants. Dental bridge prostheses are prostheses to rehabilitate the tooth deficiency by cutting the adjacent two teeth and getting support from these cut teeth. However, this method is not preferred if possible, since it is made by cutting teeth that are healthy and can remain in the mouth for a long time. With dental implants, the missing tooth can be rehabilitated without cutting these healthy teeth.
Dental implants are also a highly preferred treatment method today because they allow fixed (dental bridge) or near-fixed prostheses (prostheses over two implants or over four implants) in complete tooth deficiencies.
Can dental implants be made in people who smoke?
Smoking is harmful to many organs as well as harmful effects on the implant. Although the placement of dental implants is easy, it is a surgical procedure. Smoking used after this procedure may cause the bone and tissues around the implant to become infected and the implant may be lost. Therefore, smoking should not be used for at least 2 days after implant surgery.
Wisdom Teeth
Nowadays, in many people, wisdom teeth cannot be removed and remain buried because they cannot find a place in the jaw bone.
